On August 8, Google Search Engine was broken for a brief amount of time. However, this global disruption was enough for the users to complain as they were lagging behind a lot of work. This outage took place in the later hours of Monday.
One of the reasons why this entire Google Down situation happened is because of an “electrical incident” at the Google Data Center. This fire incident is being said to be the reason behind the outage of services across several Google platforms.
Around 40000 users from around the world complained about having a software issue. As a result, platforms like Gmail, Image Search, and even Google Maps were down for a brief but significant amount of time.
Addressing the issue, a spokesperson from Google and Alphabet Inc. said:
“We’re aware of a software update issue that occurred late this afternoon Pacific Time and briefly affected availability of Google Search and Maps, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We worked to quickly address the issue and our services are now back online.”
Users who tried using the search engine could only see the 500 error getting displayed on their screen.
