I’ve been obsessed with LinkedIn for years now! But then everyone is on LinkedIn, and I have been in the process of finding the best LinkedIn alternative of the year. The idea is to make the most of what we have at our disposal.
Like most social networks, LinkedIn also has its drawbacks.
For instance, due to so many users, my feed has stopped feeling personal, and more importantly, the content doesn’t feel hyper-relevant. And if that wasn’t bad enough, I keep getting direct messages from people who are constantly trying to sell me one thing or the other.
In fact, if I go and follow a page, then someone from that brand would immediately reach out, trying to sell me an ebook, a course, or a product. The chances of quality conversations are at an all-time low on the platform.
Having said that, I am not thinking about leaving the platform – and I’m not saying you should either. However, it is always good to know about the best LinkedIn alternatives of 2025.
After much digging, I’ve talked at length about the 11 best LinkedIn alternatives in the market. Let’s dive in.
With more than 60 million active users, Meetup is an excellent LinkedIn alternative that allows users to seek or create local networking meetups. While registering, you have to mark your top interests.
Then, the app will simply notify you about any meetups happening locally as per your interest, from personal hobbies to professional topics, these meetups cover several issues. Ideally, it is an excellent way of bringing like-minded individuals together locally.
Xing is very similar to LinkedIn. Once you sign up on the platform, you will be able to join different groups with like-minded individuals for networking and sharing ideas.
Moreover, you can stay updated with the latest news of your industry – identifying relevant conferences, trade shows, and seminars. Additionally, you can also search jobs, research companies, and even post jobs.
Also, Xing is relatively more prominent in the European subcontinent as compared to the United States. However, people in more than 200 countries use this platform.
Bark was created to bring together local working professionals with individuals seeking their specific services. So, if you are looking for professional assistance, then you can easily cut down on your search time with Bark.
The app has been designed to look for local professionals and get back to you with estimates. The best part? You can create your profile and pair with prospects that are looking for your services.
Opportunity is an excellent networking platform that is famous for professional matchmaking. It takes pride in connecting people depending on their needs.
For example, users can easily get notified every time anyone in their market indicates that they have what the user needs.
Similarly, users can also get notified of employment opportunities. Additionally, professionals can explore other working individuals depending on their preferences, such as personality, interests, gender, and more.
Jobcase is unique as a LinkedIn alternative since it has powered more than 100 job websites since 2009. Due to this reason, Jobcase can access vast amounts of data related to open roles and hiring opportunities that you are currently seeking.
So, how does Jobcase work? With this tool, you can set up your profile and access its vast database for job opportunities. Additionally, you can participate in relevant discussions, join groups, and more.
Also, Jobcase boasts more than 130 million active users As a result, there will be much to choose from, in case you decide to give this platform a shot!
LunchMeet is an excellent LinkedIn alternative. You can use this valuable tool for identifying locals with similar hobbies and interests, much like MeetUp.
Then what really makes this platform so unique? The platform’s ability to identify other local professionals who might be interested in meeting up for lunch or coffee, as opposed to being a part of the crowd.
Moreover, with this platform, you can also conduct impromptu meetings, make your availability known, and find others like you to meet during your available time slots.
Community Forums are easy but underrated in terms of offering networking opportunities within a community setting.
The trick is simple! If you are into Google Ads, then you can just visit the forum for Google Ads. Similarly, if you are all about Bing Ads, go to their forum.
In the same context, if you are not interested in advertisements, then you can check out the Google Webmaster Central Forum for speed.
Additionally, the forums are a fantastic way of asking questions and sharing your experience with anyone looking for input. These forums are mostly always active, and many knowledgeable people frequent them as well.
Gust is a niche LinkedIn alternative, considering it focuses solely on startups. In fact, it does claim to be the biggest startup network in the world. To date, the platform has served more than 500K startups.
The idea of Gust is simple: to help startups in their initial stages with management, sourcing, and investments. Also, it helps entrepreneurs to work together with angel investors and their networks.
Sumry was initially built with the idea of making first impressions easy! This web-based application helps users to build online portfolios and resumes.
Moreover, the platform allows users to aggregate their skills, work experience, and certifications. Also, it allows users to incorporate testimonials and a complete timeline of their work experience, much like LinkedIn.
Additionally, with the platform’s premium version, users can introduce themselves to hiring managers before submitting their applications.
Slack has mixed reviews, and I am not surprised! While I agree that there are several communities on the platform that add value, it tends to get very distracting at times. In fact, most networking communities on this listicle are web-based, except LunchMeet.
Now, coming to Slack, it is a messenger-based application. On Slack, every community has an adequate mix of different public threads accompanied by the option to directly message anyone in that community.
In spite of the reviews, I am a fan because I have come across some of the best communities on the platform. I have met some fantastic people on the app, and most importantly, have created sustainable working relationships.
Having said that, if you are easily distracted by notifications and DMs, then this is not the best option for you.
It might be somewhat surprising to look at Facebook as a LinkedIn alternative. But you will be surprised to know that there are multiple groups on Facebook that are dedicated to sharing working experiences and professional knowledge.
While people typically look at Facebook as a social media platform, as compared to LinkedIn, it is also an excellent source for anyone seeking professional networking.
Moreover, if you are seeking professional communities, then you can use the search tool of the platform to find groups and topics that interest you.
If interested in seeking out a community, just use Facebook’s search tool to find groups about the topic of interest. Facebook has several communities catering to different aspects of marketing, from practical knowledge to running an agency.
